Other Miscellaneous Features

The following minor enhancements were also included in GMS v5.0:

MODFLOW Grid Location/Orientation

MODFLOW grids can now be relocated after the grid is constructed.  Previously, the grid location could only be performed as the grid was being created.  If you right-click on the 3D grid in the Data Tree and select Properties, you can edit the coordinates of the grid origin and the rotation angle.

Better Memory Management for MODFLOW Arrays

Transient MODFLOW arrays (Recharge, ET) are now stored on disk and the time steps are read into memory one at a time.  As a result, large transient MODFLOW models require significantly less memory compared to previous versions of GMS.

Fast Cross-Sections

The algorithm for computing cross-sections through solid models has been optimized.  Generating cross-sections on complex solid models now takes just a few seconds compared to several minutes with previous versions of GMS.
