SMS and Hydro_AS-2D are powerful tools for simplifying the development of 2D hydraulic models. 2D models are increasingly a requirement to determine the flow characteristics of a complex hydraulic system. Further, contaminant and sediment transport are problems that require 2D modeling to accurately represent complexity. With SMS and Hydro_AS-2D, 2D modeling can now be done efficiently, providing solutions with greater detail and a higher level of confidence.
In this hands-on, application oriented training course you will be provided with the knowledge and tools necessary to solve 2D hydrodynamic modeling problems quickly and efficiently with the latest versions of SMS and Hydro_AS-2D.
The 2-day training course on SMS and Hydro_AS-2D covers the following:
![]()
Instructors
Dr. Alan Zundel. Architect and director of the SMS interface development. Author of SMS reference manual and tutorials. Ph.D., Brigham Young University, 1994. President, Aquaveo, LLC. Dr. Zundel has taught university level courses and several short courses in the area on hydraulic analysis and finite element modeling.
Tom Moreland. Tom is a member of the SMS development team. He has 10 years of experience using SMS and has taught many SMS training courses throughout the world.
