Materials

Each cell in the 3D grid has an associated material type. When a new cell is created, the material type for the new cell corresponds to the default material type. The default material type can be set using the Materials command in the Edit menu.

A new material can be assigned to a cell or a set of cells by selecting the cell(s) and then selecting the Properties command from the Edit menu.

Statistical information for each material set in the grid can be viewed by right-clicking on the material set in the Project Explorer and selecting the Properties command.  The spreadsheet on the left of the dialog contains a row for each material on the cooresponding material ID, frequency, and percentage of occurrence.  A plot on the left of the dialog contains a histogram displaying the frequency of occurrence of each material in the grid.  The material set can be viewed in tabular format by clicking on the View Data Set button.

User-defined material sets

User defined material sets can now be created by right-clicking on the 3D Grid folder in the Project Explorer and selecting New Material Set. The material set can then be edited by selecting the Edit Materials button in the Material Set Info dialog. This dialog is accessed by right-clicking on the Material Set in the Project Explorer and selecting the Properties command.
